P.L.L.A.T.E. at a Glance

Here at P.L.L.A.T.E., we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. We want to get healthy delicious food to everyone. We do this by teaching people how to grow their own produce in small spaces, or teaching people how to cook and eat under a budget. Our vision is to own a grocery store where there is an option to let people pay what they can.

Snack Packs

At P.L.L.A.T.E. we believe that kids shouldn't be hungry just because they aren't in school. We pack snack packs using reusable drawstring bags full of healthy and filling snacks. These snacks are kids who may be facing food-insecurity. The snacks packs are portable, with a focus on protein.

Gardening

Small Space Gardening

At P.L.L.A.T.E., we believe that if you give a man a fish he will eat for a day but if you teach a man to fish h will eat for a lifetime. Skill development and accessibility are part of our core values. This is why we do small space gardening classes and hope to promote not only access to food but education on growing food.

Budget Friendly Cooking Classes

At P.L.L.A.T.E., we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Everyone enjoys saving money and eating delicious food.  Our budget friendly cooking and eating classes aim to share recipes, and tips for anyone to enjoy.

Grocery Shopping

Pay What You Can

At P.L.L.A.T.E we believe that access to healthy food is a necessity, not a privilege and with that in mind people should be able to afford it no matter the circumstances.  So, our vision is to give people a grocery option where anyone can pay what they can. Those who can pay a bit more than their total can do that and those that need to pay a bit less can also do so.

Packing Cans

“I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture of their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down, men other-centered can build up I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive goodwill will proclaim the rule of the land.”

- Dr. Martin Luther King
